How do I hold back my double swing wooden gate?

I have a big double swing driveway gate made out of western red cedar. Sometimes I'd like to leave it open for guests to simply pull in the driveway. What's the best way to do this?

I would use a drop rod for wooden gates, or they're sometimes referred to as cane bolts.

They're very easy to install and also pretty inexpensive. Sure beats using a rock or an old 2x4 leaned up against the gates to hold them open.
